Who We Are
With your participation and the blessing of the Lord, we have begun our time of worship and praise as Christians at Woodlands Park.
We are identified as one family, united together by the forgiveness of God who has redeemed us and cleansed us to walk before Him in love and service. We are small enough to love you but large enough to serve you as together we can become what God has empowered us to be.
We are not perfect, but we are forgiven. We are called by God to be a Resurrected People, redeemed by the blood, filled with the spirit, led by the word and alive through Jesus.
What Is Our Mission?
The mission for the church today is no different as it was for the people of Acts. We have the same Lord, the same word of God and the same mandate as Jesus last words.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
-
Make disciples—Our first responsibility is to build a Christian family that is actively involved in reaching the lost and un-churched. This means that we must use adequate funds, energy and opportunity to demonstrate to a seeking world the invitation of Jesus.
-
Baptize—This is a very public act whereby new believers commit to the blood of Jesus for forgiveness and cleansing. When we follow Christ in baptism we commit to Biblical authority and authenticity.
-
Teaching—The word of God is our polar star. Through it we learn who God is, what God has done for us and what God has called on us to become. Jesus left us an outstanding legacy to teach, and live his word in worship, ministry and life.
What Is Our Dream?
Our dream, or vision, is what we think our Christian family will become. This vision is constantly growing and developing. Our vision is to reveal Christ in our home, our community and in our world.
- May the beauty of Christ be seen in our lives.
-The fragrance of Christ be seen in our influence with others
-The love of Christ be seen in our service to others
- The holiness of Christ to be seen in our worship
- The joy of Christ to be seen in our attitudes
As we stretch our ability to reach our dreams and goals, we want to practice an non-denominational Christianity with allegiance to none but Christ.
-We pledge to be Bible Based -We pledge to be Christ Centered -We pledge to be Heaven Bound
How Will We Do That?
We believe that our purpose is to serve the whole person. We want to serve both the spiritual and the physical. Whatever your need may be, we want to help.
We believe that we should focus on building relationships first so that our fellowship is a deeply interactive community where love, support and identity is given and received.
We believe that we should value worship not just on Sunday but throughout the week. Christianity is not just something we do, it is who we are.
We believe in the power of prayer. Our God is a “can-do” God. He hears and answers our prayers as we seek to do His will and helps us in our times of need.
We believe that we should focus intently on supporting ministries for our children, our families and our beloved senior adults. As Jesus extended his love to the lonely and the hurting.
We believe that we should facilitate the daily experience of following Christ in our worship, our fellowship, our families and our community.
Closing Thoughts
We are glad you are here today. Our desire is that through our worship assembly, that you will experience the presence of Christ, the power of God and the purpose of His Holy Spirit. Our worship assembly is simple in style and substance. We participate in acapella-style singing. We have open communion where each person is invited to examine his or her own heart and chooses whether to participate in the Lord’s Supper. There is no admission or fee to attend, even though we will pass around the contribution plate for those who are able and willing to contribute to the Lord’s work through this congregation. We honor the Bible as God’s authoritative word and join our hearts together in prayer.
Our hope is that you find us a loving, helpful and kind group of people. We struggle with sin, disappointment and insecurities; yet with the promise of spiritual blessings available through Jesus our Lord, we receive the strength from one another and the Lord to live confidently, courageously and guilt-free.
